Energy Efficiency
While negotiating a competitive rate for your contract will control the price you pay for a kWh, energy efficiency is about lowering your overall bottom line. Choice! offers a wide array of products including energy audits, lightning and HVAC retrofits, and power factor correction.
Energy Audits
- With an energy audit, Choice! will send one of our qualified energy audit specialists to inspect your facilities. During the audit, our specialist will inspect your air conditioning, lightning, controls, heating, air compressors, and additional components that use energy.
Lightning/ HVAC Retrofit
- Lightning and HVAC equipment are major consumers of electricity in commercial buildings. Older facilities are prone to accruing extra costs due to older or faulty equipment. Correction of these areas will greatly reduce your overall consumption, ultimately lowering the bottom line of your electricity costs.
Power Factor Correction
- Power factor of an electrical system is defined by the ratio of real power flowing to the load of the apparent power in a circuit. A low power factor will draw more current and in turn increase your electricity costs. Power Factor correction can help reduce the overall cost paid to the utility for the delivery of electricity.
Predominant Tax Study
- Tax laws affecting electricity consumption and deregulation constantly change, and it is not uncommon for a customer to be taxed incorrectly. Companies using more than 51% of their electricity for manufacturing are tax exempt in Texas. To determine this exemption, Choice! will send a specialist to verify if your manufacturing equipment in your facility accounts for 51% of the total usage. If your company qualifies, Choice! will have a tax certificate prepared for you to ensure you receive proper rebates for current and previous years.
After an energy efficiency consultation, our specialist will supply a report of costs saving measures for your company. These reports will show a projected ROI from correction of problem areas, as well as applicable government and TDU incentives that may apply. Initial energy audits come at no cost for the customer.
